This year Malaya Amaavasya falls on two days, according to Thithi Formula Tharpana and padayal should be performed on Sunday 28th Sep 2008
இவ்வருடம் மாளய அமாவாசை இரண்டு நாட்கள் வந்தாலு்ம் 28 செப்டம்பர் 2008 ஞாயிறு அன்று தான் சரியான தினம் ஆகும், அன்று முடியாத சூழலில் மறுநாள் திங்கள் அன்று தர்பனம், அனாதை இல்லங்களுக்கு அன்னதானம் செய்யலாம்
திதி நிர்ணய சூத்திரம் :
திதியானது பகல் 3:30மணிக்கு மேல் இருந்து மறுநாள் 3:30 க்கு முன்னர் இருப்பின் முன்நாளே சிரார்த திதி ஆகும்
சதுர்தசி திதி சில நாழிகை இருக்கும் காலையில் , அமாவாசை வரின் அது போதாயன அமாவாசையாகும்

According to singapore geoposition Amaavasai thithi begins on Sunday 28th Sep 2008 at 3:50PM(13:50 IST +2:30 (IST to Sg time) - local time correction 00:30mins = 15:50) According to thithi formula Monday 29th Sep 2008 is the right day , But overseas Hindus mostly follow amaavasai based on Holy Place of Varanasi-Kaasi, in this sitituatin both Sunday and monday are good for performing Amaavasa tharpanam
